supply625       At Hampton Veterinary Hospital our staff understands that your pet has his/her own unique and special needs to maintain their health and overall well being.  With this in mind, we provide a comprehensive wellness program designed specifically for your pet.

Regular physical examinations are recommended with frequency being based upon age and one’s individual health status.  Pets often require more frequent examinations as they age or acquire health problems.

A specific vaccination protocol will be established for your pet based upon the type of pet you have, the age of your pet, and their specific risk factors.  Vaccinations for dogs include Rabies, Distemper/Hepatitis/Parvo/Parainfluenza, Kennel cough, Leptospirosis, and Lyme disease.  Vaccinations for cats include Rabies, Feline Distemper/Upper Respiratory, and Feline Leukemia.

We recommend regular testing of stool samples for intestinal parasites.  This will decrease the likelihood that your pet will become ill from a parasite or pass a parasite on to another pet or person.  A preventative worming program will also be recommended for your pet.  External parasites such as fleas and ticks can also be a problem for your pet and we would be happy to discuss the various prevention products available.supply625

Blood testing may also be recommended for your pet.  These include Heartworm and Tick borne disease testing for you dog and Feline Leukemia/Feline Aids/Heartworm testing for your cat.  Organ function tests may also be indicated based upon your pets age and health status.  If your pet is on medication, regular drug monitoring tests may be needed to keep your pet safe and healthy.

A vital component of your pet’s health is their diet.  Proper diet will keep your pet at an ideal weight and feeling their best.  Often pets require a specific diet to help manage medical conditions such as urinary crystals, obesity, maldigestion, and arthritis.  Our veterinarians and staff will make specific recommendations once your pets health status has been evaluated.
