Veterinarians

Dr. Jason McClellan, DVM
Veterinarian

Jason McClellan

Dr. Jason McClellan took ownership of Hampton Veterinary Hospital in July 2012. He completed his undergraduate work at Boston College (1994) and his veterinary degree at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine (2001). Upon graduation from veterinary school, he completed an intensive one-year internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital and Denver Veterinary Specialists in Colorado.

The internship not only provided him with invaluable experience as a veterinarian, it’s also where he met his wife Jen, who is a veterinarian as well. Following their internships, the Drs. McClellan moved to Upstate New York so Jen could complete a residency program in small animal internal medicine at Cornell University. While Jen was completing her residency, Jason worked in a very busy, five-doctor small animal practice in Syracuse, NY. Finally, after a short stint in Northern Virginia, Dr. McClellan and his wife moved to New Hampshire in 2006. He found a position as an associate veterinarian at Derry Animal Hospital and was very happy there for six years. When the opportunity arose to become the owner of Hampton Veterinary Hospital, Dr. McClellan was excited to take on this challenging new adventure.

Owning a practice has been a professional dream of his for years, and he has been so happy making his dream a reality. Dr. McClellan’s primary areas of interest are preventive medicine, laser surgery, dentistry, and pain management. In 2010, the McClellan’s welcomed their beautiful daughter Eleanor into the world. They also share their home with three cats (Seamus, Fia, and Joey), a Jack Russell Terrier named Sebastian, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel rescue called Nova. Aside from veterinary medicine, Dr. McClellan enjoys biking, skiing, music, craft beers, travel, and spending time with his family. Dr. McClellan plans to be the owner and primary veterinarian at Hampton Veterinary Hospital for many, many years to come.

Dr. Sara Senter, VMD
Veterinarian

Sara Senter

Dr. Sara Senter received her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire (2009) and her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania (2013). She is a southern New Hampshire native who is very happy to be practicing back in the area. She joined the Hampton Veterinary family in December 2016 after working at a very busy, 12-doctor small animal practice in the Rochester area for three and a half years. She loves being part of such a wonderful, close-knit team and having the opportunity to truly get to know her clients and their furry family members. Her primary veterinary interests include geriatric care, preventive medicine, and dermatology.

In 2004, Dr. Senter met her husband Aaron at her very first veterinary job. They began dating the following year and have been together through college, veterinary school, and many years of long distance. They will be getting married in October 2018. They currently live with their sweet kitty named Silas who is a domestic longhair that’s full of personality. When she’s not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Senter enjoys scrapbooking, hiking, and spending as much time as she can with her main squeeze, family, and friends! She would also spend every day at the beach if she could, so she’s very excited to be practicing so close to the beautiful Seacoast.

She first started working at a veterinary practice in Maine at the age of 15. After high school, she went on to obtain a degree in Veterinary Technology and become certified as a veterinary technician. With eight years in the veterinary field, she couldn't imagine doing anything else. In Rachel's free time, she likes to hike and spend time with her friends and family.

Allyson
Certified Veterinary Technician

Allyson

Since day one, Allyson has been an animal lover - her first spoken word was “horse.” She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in psychology. After working in that field for several years, she decided her true calling was veterinary medicine. While working at a local Seacoast clinic, Allyson acquired her CVT and became a technician supervisor. After 15 years in the field, she decided it was time for a break, which did not last long. Allyson worked in hospitality and human medicine, but could not forget her previous career when she had felt truly fulfilled. Allyson joined our team in September 2017 and is happy to be at Hampton Veterinary Hospital working in the field that is her passion. When not at work, Allyson enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs, Lucas and Madeline. Allyson’s other passions include traveling, scuba diving, gardening, and cooking.

Her favorite thing to do is spend time on her mini-farm with her two pigs, twenty chickens, eight ducks, and two turkeys.

Weasley
“The Boss”

Weasley

Weasley joined the HVH family in March 2017 and has been running the place ever since! After being rescued by another animal hospital and treated for toxin ingestion, he was adopted by the HVH family and became our hospital kitty. His charming, yet devilish personality is quite entertaining and never ceases to make us smile! When he’s not hard at work causing mischief and teasing our patients, he enjoys looking out the window watching squirrels and birds, chasing crumpled-up pieces of paper, and napping in odd spots around the hospital.
