Veterinarians

Dr. Jason McClellan, DVM
Practice Owner | Veterinarian

Jason McClellan

Dr. Jason McClellan took ownership of Hampton Veterinary Hospital in July 2012. He completed his undergraduate work at Boston College (1994) and his veterinary degree at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine (2001). Upon graduation from veterinary school, he completed an intensive one-year internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital and Denver Veterinary Specialists in Colorado.

The internship not only provided him with invaluable experience as a veterinarian, it’s also where he met his wife Jen, who is a veterinarian as well. Following their internships, the Drs. McClellan moved to Upstate New York so Jen could complete a residency program in small animal internal medicine at Cornell University. While Jen was completing her residency, Jason worked in a very busy, five-doctor small animal practice in Syracuse, NY. Finally, after a short stint in Northern Virginia, Dr. McClellan and his wife moved to New Hampshire in 2006. He found a position as an associate veterinarian at Derry Animal Hospital and was very happy there for six years. When the opportunity arose to become the owner of Hampton Veterinary Hospital, Dr. McClellan was excited to take on this challenging new adventure.

Owning a practice has been a professional dream of his for years, and he has been so happy making his dream a reality. Dr. McClellan’s primary areas of interest are preventive medicine, laser surgery, dentistry, and pain management. In 2010, the McClellan’s welcomed their beautiful daughter Eleanor into the world. They also share their home with three cats (Seamus, Fia, and Joey), a Jack Russell Terrier named Sebastian, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel rescue called Nova. Aside from veterinary medicine, Dr. McClellan enjoys biking, skiing, music, craft beers, travel, and spending time with his family. Dr. McClellan plans to be the owner and primary veterinarian at Hampton Veterinary Hospital for many, many years to come.

Dr. Sara Senter, VMD

Dr. Sara Senter received her bachelor’s degree at the University of New Hampshire (2009), and her doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Pennsylvania (2013). As a southern NH native, she was so happy to join the Hampton Veterinary family in December 2016. It brings her heart so much joy to be part of such a wonderful close-knit community of colleagues, clients and friends, and to love her patients like her own. Her primary veterinary interests include preventative medicine and surgery, internal medicine, and geriatric care. She and her partner, Shane, share their home with three sweet and sassy kitties - Mona, Ralphie, and Buster. When she is not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Senter enjoys scrapbooking, hiking and beach walks, laughter/comedy, spending quality time with the people she loves, and snuggling with her kitties.

Dr. Kira Kenny, DVM
Veterinarian

Kira Kenny

Dr. Kira Kenny received her bachelor’s degree at the University of New Hampshire (2018), and her doctorate in veterinary medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island (2023). Being a new graduate, she is eager and excited to be joining the Hampton Veterinary Hospital family. Her primary veterinary interests include internal medicine and preventative medicine.

Dr. Kenny grew up in central New Hampshire surrounded by woodlands and wildlife. Living in this region, she developed a love and respect for animals of all sizes, a big reason why she entered the veterinary field. At home she has a spunky cat, Theo, who she adopted while in veterinary school. Aside from veterinary medicine, Dr. Kenny enjoys being outside, mainly hiking and gardening, and cooking.

Dr. Kenny is excited to be part of the Hampton Veterinary Hospital family and can’t wait to meet all of the wonderful patients and owners who stop in!

Allyson
Certified Veterinary Technician

Allyson

Since day one, Allyson has been an animal lover - her first spoken word was “horse.” She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in psychology. After working in that field for several years, she decided her true calling was veterinary medicine. While working at a local Seacoast clinic, Allyson acquired her CVT and became a technician supervisor. After 15 years in the field, she decided it was time for a break, which did not last long. Allyson worked in hospitality and human medicine, but could not forget her previous career when she had felt truly fulfilled. Allyson joined our team in September 2017 and is happy to be at Hampton Veterinary Hospital working in the field that is her passion. When not at work, Allyson enjoys spending time with her family. Allyson’s other passions include traveling, scuba diving, gardening, and cooking.

Samantha

Samantha

Samantha joined the HVH family in June of 2019, shortly after graduating from the University of New Hampshire's Veterinary Technican Program. Growing up with both a love of science and helping others, becoming a vet tech seemed a natural choice for her. She also found inspiration from her mom, who worked as a vet assistant after college and persuaded Sam to follow her dream. She finds it gratifying to be able to help animals feel better and to be an advocate for their well-being. In Sam’s free time she likes to explore the natural world and spend time with her best friends and roommates.

Carissa

Carissa

Carissa joined the HVH family in May 2020.  She is grateful to have been welcomed with open arms into such an amazing practice that truly puts the needs of the animal first, above all. Lisa
Receptionist

Lisa

Lisa grew up in southern Massachesetts and moved with her mother to Kingston, NH when she was 17.  Growing up, riding horses consumed most of her time with competitions on the weekends.  With Lisa's passion for anything with 4 legs, it was only natural that veterinary medicine would be a wonderful fit.  After obtaining her Veterinary Technician degree in 1999,  Lisa chose to spend her time raising her 2 children, Rebecca and Nicholas.  Now that they are grown, Lisa has more time to focus on the career field that has always had her heart.  Lisa lives in Manchester with her pomeranian, Teddy, and her pittie mix, Sugar.  If you don't find her at HVH she's most likely off playing with her 1 year old granddaughter, Adeline, who she is so enamored with!

Kerri
Receptionist

Kerri

Kerri joined the HVH team in December 2021.  Born in NH, she moved to Key Largo, FL at the age of five.  An avid animal lover since just a little girl, she fell in love with the manatees that inhabited her own backyard canal and spent her childhood feeding them and swimming alongside them.  After moving back to NH as a teenager, she met her husband Jason and had 3 amazing children.  Now that her kids are all grown up, Kerri enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and her 4-legged babies, a Rottweiler named Gronk and a cat named Reese.

Kerri's career path seems to have always been centered around caring for animals.  She has worked at a county shelter as a Vet Assistant, at a dog rescue, and spent 15 years managing two local, high-volume dog daycare and boarding facilities.  Kerri has a passionate interest in dog behavior and training methods.  She is very happy be a part of the HVH family and work with a team of such dedicated professionals.  She hopes to be here for many years to come!

Stephanie

She is thankful to be a part of such a close knit community here at HVH and looks forward to learning, and growing with us for many years to come. If you see her dog Bon Jovi in the office, give him a howl!
